Frequently Asked Questions 01

Insurance & Estimates

1

Do I need an appointment for an estimate?

While we do our best to accommodate walk-ins, we strongly recommend scheduling an appointment so our team can be prepared to give your vehicle the time and attention it deserves. Scheduling ahead also helps minimize wait times and creates a smoother repair experience.

2

Do I need to get multiple estimates for my insurance?

No, Nebraska law only requires you to obtain one estimate from the auto body shop of your choice. If your insurance company has already written a preliminary estimate, just bring it with you and we'll take it from there.

3

Do I have to use the repair shop my insurance recommends?

Absolutely not; by law, you have the right to choose where your vehicle is repaired. We work strictly as an advocate for you, not the insurance company, to ensure your vehicle is repaired safely and correctly.

4

What if your estimate is higher than the insurance company's estimate?

Initial insurance estimates often only cover visible damage, while we prepare a more thorough estimate based on proper repair procedures and the damage identified during disassembly and repair. If additional repairs are needed, our team will work directly with your insurance company to help document and address those items throughout the repair process.

5

When and where do I pay my deductible?

Your insurance deductible is paid directly to Dingman's Collision Center. It is not due until your auto body repairs are completely finished and you pick up your vehicle.

Frequently Asked Questions 02

Repair Process

1

What types of vehicles do you repair?

Our skilled technicians repair nearly all makes and models of foreign and domestic vehicles, including cars, trucks, SUVs, and EVs. We handle everything from minor door dings to major collision and structural damage.

2

Will insurance pay for my rental car?

Your insurance will cover a rental if you have rental coverage on your specific policy, or if you are filing a claim against an at-fault party. We can help you check your coverage if you are unsure of your policy details.

3

How do I get a rental vehicle during repairs?

We recommend coordinating directly with your rental provider prior to your collision repair appointment. In most cases, the rental provider can arrange transportation from our shop to their local branch when you drop off your vehicle for repairs. Once repairs are complete, you can typically return the rental vehicle to our facility and the rental provider will pick it up from there. If you have questions before your appointment, our team is always happy to help guide you through the process or assist with coordination when needed.

4

Do you offer towing or after-hours drop-off?

Yes, we provide towing assistance and secure after-hours key drops for your convenience. We strive to minimize disruptions to your life and ensure your vehicle is safe with us at any time.

Frequently Asked Questions 03

Quality & Warranties

1

Is there a warranty on your collision repairs?

Yes, we stand behind our work with a 100% Guarantee and a Lifetime Nationwide Warranty. This covers our paint and workmanship for as long as you own the vehicle, while replacement parts are covered by their manufacturer warranties.

2

Why does manufacturer certification matter in collision repair?

Modern vehicles are more advanced than ever, with complex materials, safety systems, and repair procedures that continue to evolve. Manufacturer certifications help demonstrate that a collision repair facility has invested in specialized equipment, training, and access to manufacturer repair information for specific vehicle brands.

At Dingman's Collision Center, we continuously invest in training, technology, and the tools and resources needed to help ensure repairs are performed safely and properly. Our team follows manufacturer repair procedures and stays current with evolving vehicle technology to help return your vehicle to pre-accident condition.

3

What is Paintless Dent Repair (PDR)?

PDR is a highly effective technique used to remove hail damage and minor dents without needing to repaint your vehicle. Our technicians carefully massage the dent out from the inside, and we promise to never drill harmful access holes into your car's panels.

Frequently Asked Questions 04

Safety & Scanning

1

What is pre- and post-repair vehicle scanning?

We digitally scan your vehicle's computer systems before repairs to uncover hidden issues, and again after repairs are completed. This guarantees that all safety and electronic systems are fully restored to factory standards before you get back on the road.

2

Why does my car need ADAS recalibration?

Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), like automatic emergency braking and lane-keeping, rely on sensitive sensors that get misaligned during a collision or windshield replacement. We use high-precision tools to correctly recalibrate these sensors so your safety features function exactly as they should.
